Matter

Matter 

What is everything made of? 

Take a look around you, what do you see? 

Does it seem like everything you see is made of the same thing? 

The answer is most likely no! 

Why?! 

Because the things in our world are made of many different materials!

Let's learn about a few!  

Wood 

Fabric 


Glass 


Rubber 

Paper 

Metal 


Properties of materials: 

Every material is a little different. Here are some properties of materials!

Soft

Transparent 

Opaque 


Flexible 

Rigid 


Now that we have reviewed materials and their properties let's test our knowledge!

Identify which material each object below is made of and then describe the properties of that material and therefore that object.

Family

 Family 

The parts of a family!

No two families are the same. Some families are big and some families are small. All families are unique and special. 

Some people that can be in a family are a mother, a father, a sister, a brother, a grandmother, a grandfather, an aunt, an uncle, and cousins 

How are you related to your family? 

A person's brother or a sister is their sibling. 
A person's grandmother is their mother or father's mother. 
A person's grandfather is their mother or father's father. 
A person's uncle is their mother or father's brother.
A person's aunt is their mother or father's sister. 
A person's cousin is their aunt or uncle's kid.

In my family, I have a father. My father's name is Harold. In my family, I also have a mother. My mother's name is Yvette. In my family, I also have two sisters. My older sister's name is Emilia and my younger sister's name is Annaliese. 

I love my family! They have taught me so much and show me so much support and care!

Parts of the Body

The Body

Each one of us has a body! Not only do our bodies make us look the way we do, but they allow us to live in and explore the world around us! Our bodies are made of a head, limbs, and a torso. Inside our bodies, we have a muscular system and a skeletal system. Our muscles and skeleton give our body shape and the ability to move and stay upright. We can bend our limbs because they are connected by joints. Some of our bodies' most important joints are our ankles, knees, wrists, and elbows. We have to take care of our bodies so they are able to provide all the amazing functions they so naturally do. What are some ways you take care of your body?
